Durrant claimed it 8-3 and could have won even more emphatically. He hit a 102 average and four 180’s as his excellent run continues.
He had an excellent start to proceedings going into a 2-0 lead with two 180’s en route. He claimed another break from there despite being frustrated with himself as he went into cruise control. This saw him at 4-0.
Gurney’s woes continued as Durrant continued to dominate going one away from a whitewash at 7-0 up. He finally got himself on the board at 7-1 down. Durrant squandered three match darts and Gurney prolonged the tie with a break at 7-2. This continued at 7-3 but it proved nothing more than a consolation as Durrant concluded proceedings.
