Price into 8th weekly final of the year, set to face Smith who keeps hopes of third straight night win alive

The final of the 15th night of Premier League Darts action in 2023 is all set with Gerwyn Price set to take on Michael Smith after semi-final wins over Chris Dobey and Jonny Clayton secured their place in the Sheffield final.

In the first semi-final, Gerwyn Price fresh off the back of an imperious display against Nathan Aspinall earlier in the night faced off against Chris Dobey. Despite missing his first dart at double of the night, Price broke throw in the opening leg to take an early lead.

A 41 checkout finished on double 10 then ensured Price went two up. The Welshman then missed three clear darts at tops for a 3-0 lead however, allowing Dobey to return and get his first leg on the board. After Price moved back to two legs ahead, Dobey fought back with a hold of throw courtesy of double 4.

After nailing double 10 for a 100 checkout, Price let out his biggest roar of the night so far. Dobey would then wire the bull for a 164 only to see Price return and take out a brilliant ton-plus finish to move a leg away from an eighth final of the campaign. A few moments later, Price would nail double 10 and secure the comfortable victory.

In the second semi-final, Price's World Cup of Darts partner Jonny Clayton faced off against the winner of the last two weeks, Michael Smith in a repeat of last week's final. Smith was unstoppable in their encounter seven days ago and showed no sign of letting up as he fired in an 81 checkout on double 4 to take the opening leg.

Continuing his role, Smith quickly raced into a 3-0 lead, averaging a mere 109. The Welshman stopped the rot and got himself on the board in the fourth leg to pull back to 3-1 and after Smith missed two at double six in the following leg, Clayton punished to break throw.

Following a missed dart at tops by both players in the sixth leg it was Clayton who finally took it and levelled the match up at 3 legs apiece. Then it was Smith's turn to stop the rot, nailing double 13 to regain the lead. The Ferret levelled things up once again at 4-4 but as the run of holds continued, Smith advanced to 5-4 ahead. A few moments later, Smith pinned 81 in two darts to keep his hopes of a third straight success alive.
