Rampant Rock eases past Girvan, breaks average record with 104 in winning 2022 PDC World Youth Championship

After a terrific year so far, Josh Rock has won the PDC World Youth Championship joining an illustrious list and underlining his credentials as the player to watch in World Darts right now.

Rock who lost in the opening round of the Players Championship Finals to Cameron Menzies showed no such issues on his return to the Main Stage sweeping aside Nathan Girvan 6-1 and breaking the average record with 104.13 in the process.

This also opens up a third spot in the PDPA Qualifier tomorrow with Girvan the only player who could've took the spot due to Rock qualifying through the ProTour for the PDC World Darts Championship.

For Rock, it adds to domination on the Development Tour, a maiden PDC ranking title and his nine-dart finish on TV and a superb TV debut at the Grand Slam of Darts. A big name to watch in tomorrow's draw.

It was a superb start from Rock who broke hitting double two after priorly hitting a maximum as he went 2-0 up.

Back-to-back 134’s and double 20 last dart in hand saw Rock go 3-0 up. Girvan missed a dart at 120 but Rock missed three to break on double 18 and the Scot returned to pin double 16 to hold at 3-1 down.

Rock though responded with back-to-back 180’s but missed the eighth dart going for a nine-darter. He returned though for double 10 for 4-1.

Girvan missed 95 and Rock went one away and was throwing for the title. He missed two darts for the title but returned for double five to seal it.
