Ratajski seals statement win over Usher with 107 average as Montgomery pins stunning 161 checkout to defeat Kantele

The first round continues at the European Darts Grand Prix with Krzysztof Ratajski continuing his recent return to form shown at his darting best in Sindelfingen.

Ratajski is into the second round at the European Tour staple after averaging over 107 in seeing off Graham Usher 6-3.

In particular, it was the finishing of 'The Polish Eagle' that impressed as he pinned 54.5% on the outer ring in seeing off 'The Gambler'.

He broke in particular at 4-3 which changed the game hitting a 91 checkout for a 12-darter and followed it up with a clean 80 checkout to hold before breaking again for the win.

This was in the form of an 87 checkout on double 18 for an 11-darter as rampant Ratajski sealed a superb conclusion to the tie.

As did Ross 'The Boss' Montgomery who marked his European Tour debut with a win against fellow veteran, Marko Kantele.

It was a hard fought win for the Scot against the Finn, but he sealed it in style smashing in a superb 161 checkout to hold through at 5-4 and stop it going all the way to a decider.

In terms of the second round, Ratajski will face Dimitri van den Bergh. While for 'The Boss', it is going to be Jonny Clayton.
