Schedule & Preview for Night 14 of 2021 Premier League Darts featuring Anderson against Van Gerwen

Michael van Gerwen takes on Gary Anderson in a bid to get back to winning ways in the Premier League Darts, as the play-off race heats up.

Nathan Aspinall is now the frontrunner in the race for the Premier League Darts top spot and that tasty £25,000 bonus after seeing off Van Gerwen. On paper, he's the big favourite against James Wade, whose play-off chances are all but gone. But Wade, who knows only wins will do now, might feel like the shackles are off. The Asp will need to stay ruthless to claim a precious victory.

Jonny Clayton was the first player to win in front of fans in 2021; he did it in style too, thrashing Gary Anderson with a fine display of finishing. Jose de Sousa ended up having to do it the hard way, but edging out Dimitri van den Bergh does his top four bid a world of good. Both players will likely stay in the top four with a draw - but it's hard to imagine them settling for a mere point.

Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson both suffered a bitter blow on Monday night, but can recover with a Tuesday triumph. The situation's a little more dire for the Scot, for whom defeat could be a fatal blow. He knows that the width of the wire around the bullseye prevented him from much more than an 8-1 defeat to Jonny Clayton, so if he can adjust (and if Van Gerwen remains wasteful, as on Monday), the play-off battle could remain six strong.

In all likelihood, Peter Wright's hopes of making it to Finals Night are gone, even if it's not mathematically certain the event that he beats Dimitri van den Bergh. In playing Jonny Clayton and Michael van Gerwen after the Belgian, Snakebite now plays the role of kingmaker. Van den Bergh will still be in the hunt regardless of tonight's result, but his slide out of the top four is untimely, and he needs to bounce back quickly or face the consequences.
