Compared to Friday, there are six new players competing in the 28th Players Championship tournament of the season on Saturday. This comes as some players have opted out.
Thus, Chris Dobey, Luke Humphries, Michael Smith, Ryan Meikle and Ryan Searle have decided not to participate in Players Championship 28 after all. Pascal Rupprecht will not be starting either, but the German had not registered for this tournament either.
The vacant spots will be filled by reserve players through the PDC Challenge Tour Order of Merit. This allows Dom Taylor, David Evans, Eddie Lovely, Peter Jacques, Harry Ward and Jarred Cole to take a shot at competing with the world's top players.
