Daryl Gurney threw the best match of his career at
Players Championship 27 on Friday. The 37-year-old Northern Irishman threw an average of 117.12 per turn during Players Championship 27 in his match against Ian White.
The two-time major-winner started the match with a 13-darter and then took a 3-0 lead via an 11-darter and a 15-darter. Gurney then threw a 12-darter for 4-0 and then closed with two 13-darters for a 6-0 victory over White.
Gurney's average was a sharp improvement on his old personal record. That dated back to 2018, when "Superchin" managed to throw an average of 110.19.
