The world number one suffered his fifth defeat of the competition against Gerwyn Price on Saturday evening. Never before has Van Gerwen lost five matches in one season of the Premier League Darts. However, the difference with the second place is only one point.
Nathan Aspinall and Gary Anderson both have thirteen points, one more than Peter Wright and Van Gerwen. However, Wright's leg difference is slightly better than that of the Dutchman.
Price kept the top four in his sight after beating Van Gerwen. The Welshman has as many points as number seven Michael Smith. Daryl Gurney is still the number eight despite his surprising victory over Wright.
