Steve Beaton, Simon Whitlock, Jelle Klaasen & Jose De Sousa among qualifiers for German Darts Championship

Former world champions Jelle Klaasen and Steve Beaton are among those to have passed the Tour Card qualifying tournament for the German Darts Championship. As a result, they may compete in the Euro Tour tournament in Hildesheim from Aug. 30 to Sept. 1.

Klaasen was able to win over Jeffrey de Zwaan (6-5), Chris Landman (6-1) and Mario Vandenbogaerde (6-3) during the qualifying tournament. Furthermore, the legendary Beaton also forced placement for the German Darts Championship after victories over Benjamin Drue Reus (6-5), George Killington (6-4) and Keegan Brown (6-2).
Elsewhere, Mike Kuivenhoven dealt with Jurjen van der Velde (6-5), Gabriel Clemens (6-3) and Robert Owen (6-4). Another starting spot went to Simon Whitlock, who defeated Robbie Knops (6-4), Richard Veenstra (6-3) and Stephen Burton (6-4). In addition, Boris Krcmar, Nick Kenny, Dom Taylor, Mickey Mansell, Jose de Sousa and Martin Lukeman also qualified.
The top-16 of the world rankings and the top-16 of the Pro Tour rankings are automatically invited to the German Darts Championship. Among others, Michael van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price, Luke Littler, Dave Chisnall, Gary Anderson, Peter Wright and Dimitri van den Bergh will all be present.

- I loved Jan and loved his walk on music "Explode" by Jordan & Baker. I think if he stuck around the BDO he definitely would have been World Champion, should have won in 2014, he never really showed any of his talent in the PDC. I remembered he worked in a bank or in finance and maybe that was his priority, he was also a fan and interested in magic. Definitely should have achieved much more in darts than he did. - This is exactly what I mean,littler survives the 1st round,I think you'll find a lot of other players did. Can you just report on the real sport,and not just 1 person. I like Luke,but this is getting boring now,as Kevin painter once said to Taylor!! The sport is about every player,not 1 who everyone seems to have put the sport on the map.,which he hasn't,he's just got in when the money is massive.
