Nathan Aspinall starts the
New Zealand Darts Masters brimming with confidence. The brand new World Matchplay champion will take on Kayden Milne in the opening round.
For Aspinall, it will be his first official match since winning the World Matchplay. "I've been thinking about it this week, when John McDonald calls me as the Matchplay champion," said 'The Asp' in an interviewwith Mark Webster for the PDC.
"I don't think there's a extra pressure but I do want to win again," Aspinall continues. "A few of the big names have dropped out and there is a real opportunity for me to take back to back TV titles, something I've never done."
"I've not thrown much darts since the Matchplay it's been all media," he admits before concluding with an injury update. "It's been a long 12-18 months but everything is healed, I feel good and there's no pain there."
