Ritchie Edhouse and Jermaine Wattimena have become the latest names to secure participation in the 2024 Grand Slam of Darts after surprisingly making the final of the recent European Championship in Dortmund last weekend.

After a crazy tournament, Edhouse captured his first major title by beating Wattimena 11-3 in the final. All major-tournament finalists receive an invitation from the PDC to participate in the Grand Slam of Darts.

The performances of Edhouse and Wattimena dropped Chris Dobey and Damon Heta from the virtual list. That means Dobey and Heta must now compete in the qualifying tournament on Nov. 1 despite having won three and two Players Championship titles, respectively. At this qualifier, the final eight starting spots are up for grabs.

There are 12 players who have qualified for the Grand Slam of Darts via a televised final. In addition to Edhouse and Wattimena, these are Luke Humphries, Luke Littler, Mike de Decker, Stephen Bunting, Dimitri van den Bergh, Michael Smith, Rob Cross, Michael van Gerwen, Rowby-John Rodriguez and Mensur Suljovic.

In addition, Dave Chisnall, Martin Schindler, Peter Wright, Josh Rock and Gary Anderson may travel to Wolverhampton because they have won one or more Euro Tours. Gian van Veen, Wessel Nijman, Beau Greaves, Noa-Lynn van Leuven, Lourence Ilagan and Leonard Gates have qualified through various tours. Added to that is the number one seed from the Challenge Tour season. The final weekend of the Challenge Tour is November 2 and 3.
