Three-time world champion John Part will make new attempt at reclaiming Tour Card via Q-School

John Part will make another attempt to earn back his Tour Card. 'Darth Maple' is one of several hundred participants in the PDC Q-School, where dozens of Tour Cards are up for grabs.

Part is considered an absolute icon of the sport of darts, but his heyday is well behind him. He became world champion with the BDO in 1994, while Part managed to take the world title with the PDC in 2003 and 2008. In the 2003 final, he defeated darts legend Phil Taylor after one of the greatest matches ever. By the way, Part is the only world champion within the PDC who is not from Europe.

After Part failed to qualify for the 2016 World Darts Championship after 22 World Championship appearances in a row, he lost his Tour Card in early 2017. However, Part won his Tour Card back at the Q-School that same year. The Canadian dart player showed something of his old form one more time by reaching the quarter-finals at the 2018 UK Open. However, he lost his Tour Card again in early 2019 and Part did not manage to get another Tour Card after that. In recent years, Part has been active on the senior circuit, but without any appealing results.
