The first Premier League night (2016) in the Netherlands was perhaps one of the most beautiful nights in Dutch darts history and the walk on of Raymond van Barneveld was perhaps the best moment of the night.
Applauded by nearly ten thousand fans, the five-time world champion entered the stage to then receive a hero's welcome from the Dutch public.
"I have won many titles, but I have never experienced an evening like this in my career. An indescribable feeling. Really bizarre. It was probably the best moment of my career", Van Barneveld said at the time after the game against Peter Wright (6-6).
Next Thursday, the Premier League Darts returns to Ahoy Rotterdam for the first time since 2019. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the competition was only played in the United Kingdom in 2020 and 2021.
