"To have games like this against Luke Littler is always good" - Michael van Gerwen delighted to see off teen prodigy on Night 2 final of Premier League Darts

Michael van Gerwen has won the second match day of Premier League Darts. 'Mighty Mike' was too strong for Luke Littler in Berlin in the final 6-5.

Van Gerwen averaged above 100 in each of the quarterfinals, semifinals and final. "To have games like this against Luke Littler is always good,” reflected Van Gerwen post-match. “I think it was a fantastic night for darts, and I’m really pleased with my own performance today."

"I played well, especially in the important moments, and I was able to keep the pressure on my opponents," he continues. “Sometimes my energy levels in certain games hasn’t been great, so you need to find solutions, and this is a key moment for me today.''

Nevertheless, van Gerwen isn't totally happy with his level just yet. “I feel good, I feel comfortable, but there is more to come,” he adds ominously.

Van Gerwen is now second with Littler in the Premier League Darts standings, two points off leader Michael Smith. "Luke is extremely talented, we have seen that over the past few months, but so am I," Van Gerwen concluded.
