"You're going to see me in action regularly in the coming months" - No Tour Card, but Ron Meulenkamp still at UK Open

Ron Meulenkamp lost his PDC Tour Card in early 2023. For the past two years, he tried to earn back that Tour Card at Q-School, but was unsuccessful.

Still, Meulenkamp may enter the UK Open early next month. The 35-year-old Dutchman came up with the good news himself on Viaplay. "The top 16 of the Challenge Tour last year get to compete at the UK Open this year," Meulenkamp said. "I finished 17th last year so normally I would have just missed out on an invitation to the UK Open, but due to some cancellations I was called up after all. I am looking forward tremendously hard to playing at this PDC major."

And Meulenkamp had more good news to report. "Earlier this year I lost the Modus Series week 7 final against Chris Landman. The winners will be invited to the final night (where all week winners will compete against each other for a top prize of 20,000 pounds)."

"Since Chris captured his Tour Card last month he may not participate in that final night. I was called as a replacement because I had the highest average of all the finalists. I may not have a Tour Card, but you are still going to see me in action in England regularly in the coming months," Meulenkamp laughed.
