The World Matchplay begins on Saturday night with a bumper session including Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson and its the former who is odds on favourite for the title.

Van Gerwen sits at 7/4 at the start of play on Saturday ahead of Peter Wright who is currently at 5/1. Gerwyn Price, the double Grand Slam champion similar to Wright will hope to take behind closed doors form from the Summer Series ahead of the major which will also have no crowd; he sits at 13/2.
Nathan Aspinall will chase a third TV title and he is currently on 9/1. 2018 winner Gary Anderson will look to defend his money from two years ago and sits on 14/1.
Last year's winner and finalist Rob Cross and Michael Smith; as well as a semi-finalist and Premier League leader, Glen Durrant are all on 20/1, so could be shrewd bets.
Those further down include Dave Chisnall (33/1), Ian White and former winner James Wade (40/1) and two-time World Champion Adrian Lewis (100/1).
