Van Barneveld to tie the knot on Tuesday; Van Gerwen misses wedding in Cyprus

Raymond van Barneveld will finally say yes to his girlfriend Julia Evans on Tuesday. The wedding will take place on the island of Cyprus.

Since 2019, "Barney" has been in a relationship with the Englishwoman. In February 2022, Van Barneveld went down on his knees for Julia during a weekend trip in Paris at the Eiffel Tower.

The wedding was supposed to be performed on Monday, Sept. 18. However, Van Barneveld received an invitation to the World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam and it was decided to postpone the wedding one day.

Last week, the five-time world champion was already in Cyprus from Tuesday through Thursday for final preparations. Van Barneveld flew back to the Netherlands on Thursday night to play darts at AFAS Live, while his wife-to-be stayed behind in Cyprus to receive the first guests.

Incidentally, Michael van Gerwen will not attend the ceremony. Van Gerwen had received an invitation from his Dutch darts colleague, but the visit to Cyprus did not fit into his schedule, he reported to De Telegraaf, among others.
