Van der Voort on underarm throw incident with referee Kirk Bevins: 'I got a few errors in my head, and then it gets very difficult'

Vincent van der Voort got frustrated during his Quarter-Final defeat to Glen Durrant at the World Matchplay but not only for losing.

In the 22nd leg with proceedings at 12-9 in his favour, an underarm throw from Van der Voort was rejected. He didn't say much at the time but angrily pointed at referee Kirk Bevins on stage after defeat.

He discussed this with RTL7 after the defeat: “You should never blame anyone else. I threw an dart underhand but was not on the oche. He couldn't see it, but he did. I got a few errors in my head, and then it gets very difficult.”

"I shouldn't throw that dart underhand, but if you just lost, it is nice that you can blame someone else for a while. I am not going to repeat what I said there. That remains between me and him."
