Dirk Van Duijvenbode will play Gary Anderson tonight at the
World Series of Darts Finals after only just seeing off Haupai Puha in a decider and he was left frustrated by his display.
“It wasn’t good but in the end you just take the win,” said a frustrated Van Duijvenbode to Online Darts.
“I don’t feel really confident at the moment, I’ve got done problems with my wrist. This week I’ve hit a nine-darter and then only hit three trebles in 10 minutes so it’s the best and worst in the world.”
“Then you don’t feel confident as you don’t know which one is showing up.”
He also discussed the home crowd with his final aim to play Premier League back home at some point.
“When he was almost about to beat me they started to get involved, I was focused then as when he’s one away you start to lose every thought. Then they came in with singing as well and I got my proper focus back.”
“I’d rather play in Rotterdam Ahoy than a final of any other tournament. It’s not even ranked but that’s the thing you’re dreaming of. You’re dreaming of becoming World Champion and I’m also dreaming to play Premier League at the Ahoy. Of course here’s probably 2-3,000 but the dream is to play well in front of your home crowd.”
