Van Gerwen berates display after Price thrashing: "I threw it away myself by missing so many doubles in the beginning"

Michael van Gerwen failed to win the eighth night of the Premier League Darts. The Dutchman went down 6-1 against Gerwyn Price in the final.

Van Gerwen was obviously disappointed afterwards. "In the beginning of the match I played well, but I threw it away myself by missing so many doubles. And if you give him confidence he is a fantastic darter, he proved that again tonight," said 'MVG'.

"When I play my own game, I win normally," Van Gerwen continued. "But in such a short game format you can't make mistakes like this. This is really sour, but it's no different, I can only blame myself for this."
