Michael van Gerwen is still comfortably leading the league after the end of the eighth round of play in Premier League Darts.
He lost 6-1 to an unleashed Gerwyn Price, who threw 115 average, in the final on Thursday night in Newcastle. Van Gerwen is now on 25 points, while the Welshman firmly holds the second spot with eighteen points.
Nathan Aspinall (13 points) and Michael Smith (12 points) complete the top four for now albeit with a five point gap from Price in second. Chris Dobey (ten points) and Dimitri van den Bergh (nine points) still have the top four somewhat in their sights. Jonny Clayton (seven points) and Peter Wright (two points) are both well outside contention.
