Gerwyn Price kept the pressure on at the top of the
Premier League Darts table with an examination of Michael van Gerwen in superb fashion 6-1.
Price averaged 115 in sealing victory and was left gutted that the Newcastle finale didn't end in a whitewash.
"I'm a little bit disappointed I lost that one leg. I think I only slipped up in one or two pitches and it costs but I'm glad to play well. 6-0 would've been better, obviously on leg difference as well but a win's a win. I'm still number two but there's still a few weeks to go yet," he said post match.
Used to a poor reception, Price saw an interesting slide as he went from being booed to being cheered with the former as he played Chris Dobey.
"First game I was booed going on and then they supported me which was good. I said I'd rather Michael Smith win against Chris (Dobey) but it's good to see support for Chris like they did with me in Cardiff. I'm glad that Dimi doesn't get the chance to go to Belgium."
But while talk has slowly slipped towards the play-offs, Price doesn't believe he is in yet.
"In the old format, I would say yeah. It's five points for a win, if you start losing week after week and two or three people keep winning five points, it's not over yet."
