Michael van Gerwen will face
James Wade in this week's final at the 2022 Premier League in Leeds after seeing off Peter Wright for a third time during this year's tournament.
Van Gerwen is through to his fourth weekly final after averaging 90 in a below par contest with Wright down at 86.4 in a 6-3 triumph.
Wright moved 2-1 up on Van Gerwen and after Van Gerwen missed four darts at double, Wright moved 3-2 up. But a pivotal break came at 4-3 up on double four. Van Gerwen picked out double one to go to within a leg of the final which he sealed.
He will face Wade reached his second successive weekly final as he defeats Jonny Clayton 6-4 with a 96 average and 50% on the doubles.
Wade started with a 61 on double 18 for the opening leg. Clayton continued to move ahead with double eight for a 3-2 advantage.
An 88 checkout saw Wade level at 3-3 but again a pivotal break came with Wade hitting a 177 and 180 en route to an 11-darter. He hit 72 to go one away.
Clayton hit his second and third 180's of the match and double eight to trail 5-4 but Wade completed the feat from there to move through.
