Michael van Gerwen will again face
Gerwyn Price in a
Premier League Darts final aiming to add a fourth weekly title of the season in Newcastle on Night Eight.
While for Price, if he prevails it will be a third of the season and back-to-back after he won in Nottingham last week. This after Nathan Aspinall and Chris Dobey fell by the wayside with the latter seeing his home hero dream end in Newcastle.
For MVG, it was a simple task as he eased past Nathan Aspinall in a whitewash 6-0 win with a 101 average. It is a fifth weekly final of the campaign for the Green Machine who seems destined for the play-offs already after failing to win the league in recent years before Finals Night.
While for Price, he saw off Dobey in a 6-4 win with an 86 average, two 180's despite 28.6% on the outer ring from 'The Iceman'.
The first two legs were shared and it was the missed doubles that handed Dobey a 2-1 lead but Price came back to silence the crowd at 4-2 up with an 80 checkout.
Dobey came back to within one with a 97 checkout at 5-4 but a decider wasn't on the cards as Price sealed the deal in style going single 20, double 16, double 12 for the win.
