Van Veen, Littler and Barry in quarterfinals of PDC Development Tour 22

Luke Littler, Keane Barry and Gian van Veen are among those to have qualified for the quarterfinals of PDC Development Tour 22.
By reaching the quarter-finals and Luke Littler's victory over Nathan Rafferty in the last 32, Wessel Nijman can hardly escape placement for the World Darts Championship and capture a PDC Tour Card. Competitor Rafferty will then have to win both tournaments on Sunday, while Nijman may barely scrape off any more pounds.
Van Veen is also in the quarterfinals. The Dutchman was victorious against, among others, Bradley Brooks (4-3), Henry Coates (4-2) and Jarred Cole (4-2). Van Veen is in a fierce battle with Littler for the lead on the Development Tour ranking. The winner of the ranking gets to compete at the Grand Slam of Darts in November.
The PDC Development Tour is considered the training institute of the PDC. Talented players have the opportunity on this circuit to further develop their gift. Players may enter as soon as they reach the age of sixteen. They may then compete up to and including the season in which they turn 24.
Distribution of prize money during PDC Development Tour
15,000 pounds of prize money is paid out per tournament, so the prize pool for the entire circuit of a total of 24 tournaments consists of 360,000 pounds.
From reaching the last 64, players can earn prize money, starting with 75 pounds. That amount then increases each round. The winner collects a handsome £2,500.

- Likewise, I have always been a fan of Mervyn and with this worry on his mind, it explains why his form and ranking plummeted. It is really sad to hear this, often chatted to Mervyn and Tracey during the Lakeside days, both are lovely people. It does seem naive not acknowledging the fact it was earnings, surely there must be others in the same situation. - What’s with the dogs element to this story, trying to pull at the heart strings? Just goes to show that being a good dart player does not equate to being that bright. Seriously, ‘I thought you didn’t have to pay tax on winnings’ , your a pro dart player and its your line of work, your not playing the lottery or placing a bet. I think it was Phil Taylor who said you should put a third to one side of all winnings into a bank account, obviously Merv was wearing his earplugs at the time.Mysstree10-03-2025
- The thing is... the folks who "humiliated" Taylor in the Seniors Events never really achieved anything in the important events - like Taylor did. Taylor had/has nothing to prove... and beating Taylor after he had retired is of zero value. Taylor in his prime would have made easy work of all of them. Cheers.MrYnyslas197107-03-2025
