Callan Rydz has made it through to the second round of the
European Darts Matchplay at the expense of Jon Worsley. For 'The Riot' a duel with Damon Heta awaits in the last 32.
Last year's winner of two Pro Tour titles, had a tough time against Worsley. The turning point was the seventh leg, in which Worsley missed three darts on double 16 to lead 4-3. Then Rydz took advantage in a brilliant way by hitting 125 via the bull and two bullseyes. He didn't concede a single leg after that either and went on to win 6-3.
Madars Razma also secured his place in the next round. He beat Dragutin Horvat 6-3 and will play a German again in the last 32: Martin Schindler. He was joined by another home hero in the next round in
Lukas Wenig.
He survived a spirited comeback en route to seeing off Steve Lennon 6-4 after going 5-2 up initially but it was an 89 average and 54% on the doubles and he will face Chris Dobey tomorrow.
