Vincent van der Voort was a professional darts player until the end of last year. Meanwhile, he is taking a sabbatical year and is looking for young talent for the future for darts manufacturer Winmau. For example, he recently saw a top Dutch talent at work that impressed him immensely.

It concerns Quinn Sneeboer, a boy who has only been active in darts for a year. "I was at a youth tournament of the NDB (Dutch Darts Association), which I thought was fun. I was watching a young boy there that I just signed," Van der Voort tells his story on the podcast 'Darts Draait Door'.

Van der Voort became really impressed with the 13-year-old Dutchman and afterwards also posted a photo together with him on Instagram. "A great talent," Van der Voort said. "Well, not in terms of height...," laughs podcast host Damian Vlottes, referring to the big height difference between Van der Voort and Sneeboer.

"He's pretty small, that's true," Van der Voort said. "But he's a really good player. He was very calm all day; he hadn't lost a leg until the final. There he was down 2-0 and then he gives ff gas."

Character

Sneeboer showed what he is made of by throwing an average of 75.15 in the quarterfinals. In the final, against Sander van der Meijden, things were a little more difficult. "With a little bit of luck, he wins that match," Van der Voort said. "Well, then something will come out of it! Just character. He's a really good player. And he's only been playing for a year, right?"

"I'm curious to see how he'll be in another year already." Vlottes pitches that he should take his time quietly, but Van der Voort disagrees: "He has to go really hard!"
