Chris Dobey has already made his mark on the professional darts scene, but he’s got his sights set on something even bigger—passing the torch to the next generation. His son may be just 14 months old, but Dobey is already laying the groundwork for a potential future in darts. The Premier League Darts 2025 contender has a dream that goes beyond trophies and titles: one day, he hopes to share the oche with his own son in a PDC Pro Tour match. Could we be witnessing the first steps of a future darts dynasty?
Luke Littler became world darts champion early this year at age 17. Dobey is currently working on his own project Littler. "It’s already started with the little one. I’ve got him a little magnetic dart board for his birthday and he’s never off it," Dobey said. “My eldest has got no interest now. He did have a good natural throw when he was 12-18 months, but no interest whatsoever."
"[My youngest is] 14 months and he’s literally throwing it at the magnetic board," continues 'Hollywood'. "We’ll try to get him playing earlier than Littler. I didn’t force nothing on him. I got him [the magnetic board] and we’ll see what happens. But he’s always throwing it at the board and he loves it.”

Dobey has been competing in the PDC since 2015 and won the 2023 Masters, the biggest tournament victory of his career. Meanwhile, the 34-year-old Englishman has climbed to eighth in the world rankings. 'Hollywood' is still relatively young and may have many years to go at the top. As such, the dream is to one day play against his own son on the big stage.
"I’d like to still be playing if one of the two were to come through. It’ll be great. 100 per cent [I’d beat them], you can’t go light on them. I’m also one of those who would play pairs with them. I wouldn’t play pairs with a good player, you want to try to bring them through too," concludes the Bedlington ace.
