James Wade has claimed a brilliant victory over Gary Anderson in an absolute thriller at the Champions League of Darts where he produced where it mattered in a last leg decider.
Wade reeled off three straight legs from 9-7 down and seemingly on the verge of defeat to claim a 10-9 victory and put matters into his own hands tomorrow.
Despite Anderson hitting a 180 to begin the leg, in typical Wade fashion he claimed the first two legs still including a break of throw to cement his authority in the early going.
Anderson missed multiple darts at double to break back and Wade produced a clutch 98 checkout to go 3-0 up. 'The Flying Scotsman' finally got a leg on the board though but was still 3-1 behind.
He added to that with a clutch double 10 finish to make it 3-2 behind and put it potentially back to parity. He did do so with double 20 as Wade's advantage disappeared.
Wade though went quick fire 55 checkout to go back ahead again. Anderson took the lead though after Wade missed double 18 at 5-4 up.
Wade hit back to back 180's and hit a 96 checkout to make it 5-5. Despite that Anderson went 7-5 up to reclaim the lead and he looked good to potentially finish off the contest.
Anderson missed a 92 checkout with him going two double 18's and Wade punished on double 20. It was Anderson though that went one away with a brilliant 13 darter.
There was some prime Wading though with a 121 checkout and from there he produced a brilliant final leg to claim a last leg thriller win.
