The defending champions Scotland are out of proceedings at the World Cup of Darts with the favourites Wales seeing them off in the first pairs decider of the tournament.
Gerwyn Price began proceedings with a brilliant 4-2 win over John Henderson hitting a 104.6 average which put Wales in the driving seat early on.
He produced a strong start taking out 99 to claim the opening leg and he doubled his lead from there with an 81 checkout on the bull for a 12-darter.
Henderson attempted to get himself back in the tie with a mid match foray which saw him pin a 121 checkout on the bull to reduce the arrears to 3-1. He hit a 13-darter on tops to close the gap to 3-2.
But a 16 darter with double eight hit by 'The Iceman' cancelled his late surge and gave him the lead at 1-0 up.
From there, it was the turn of Robert Thornton to keep Scotland in proceedings and he punished 18% on the doubles from Jonny Clayton to force the pairs decider.
'The Ferret' was missing doubles to begin the tie as he missed two for an early break and Thornton hit double four to claim the first leg. A 120 checkout was the response from Clayton and they went back and forth from there but a trusty double 20 saw Thornton go one away and he concluded proceedings from there.
It was then onto the pairs decider but it wasn't on to be for Scotland as Price and Clayton produced a 101 in a superb 4-0 victory to move into the Quarter-Finals.
