Jermaine Wattimena and Stephen Bunting are both through to the second round at the European Championship after easing through their respective first round tests.
Wattimena saw off an out of sorts Jamie Hughes in a 6-1 win. 'Machine Gun' went 1-0 behind but he reeled off six straight legs to ease through.
After two breaks, Wattimena headed into the first interval with a 4-1 lead and in the case of Hughes it seemed like he was struggling with some sort of injury.
His misery was confounded with him missing one at double 18 which allowed Wattimena to go one away and from there the Dutchman sealed the deal to defeat Hughes, who has been a champion on the European Tour this season so in this case whimpered out of the tournament.
In Bunting's game against Keegan Brown, he also impressed. The St Helens ace stormed to a 6-1 rout of 'The Needle' with a 95 average.
Bunting broke throw early doors and held throw after Brown had missed darts to break to go 3-1 up. He continued his rout with him 4-1 up at the interval.
From there the one way traffic continued and Bunting sealed the deal expertly to move through to the second round.
