On Monday,
Damon Heta traveled from Belgium to the United Kingdom after participating in the Belgian Darts Open 2025. His next destination: Leicester, where the Players Championship tournaments were played on Tuesday and Wednesday.
During the long journey, the Australian darter decided to hold a Q&A session with his fans via Facebook, in which he answered both serious and light-hearted questions.
Heta, who in recent years has developed into one of the strongest darters on the PDC circuit, was asked, among other things, what his ultimate goal for the end of the year is. His answer was clear: He wants to reach the top four in the world rankings. Currently, he is already among the best eight players in the world, an achievement he is proud of, especially considering that he has only been active in the PDC for five years.
However, the life of a professional dart player also involves sacrifices. When asked how much time he spends on average in his native Australia, Heta indicated that with luck he can be there three weeks a year. Frequent travel is a regular part of his career, but he seems resigned to the fact that this is the downside of success at the highest level.
In addition to darts, his love of football also came up. If he were allowed to put together a team of five darters, he would choose Nathan Aspinall, Joe Cullen and Luke Humphries, among others, with Florian Hempel as goalkeeper. On the culinary front, Heta has a penchant for hearty meals. His favorite English dish is a traditional Sunday roast, and if he had to choose his last meal ever, he would start with chipotle chicken, followed by rack of lamb and finish with a smash burger for dessert.
About Beau Greaves, one of the most promising female darters, he spoke full of admiration. He is convinced she will get even better the more often she plays against the absolute world's best. Finally, Heta was asked if he thinks Luke Littler can one day break Phil Taylor's record of 16 world titles. While he did not rule out the possibility, he remained cautious in his prediction. "Probably not, but who knows," he replied.
