For the second year in a row, the PDC is also hosting a tournament for the best women's darters on the planet prior to the grand final of the World Matchplay. Last year's Women's World Matchplay was won by Fallon Sherrock, who will be there again this year.
Sherrock, however, is not considered the big favorite. The favorite tag now lies with 19-year-old Beau Greaves, who will face Noa-Lynn van Leuven in the first round.
Sherrock in turn will play against four-time women's world champion Lisa Ashton. Aileen de Graaf will also play against a big name in women's darts. She face off with two-time world champion Mikuru Suzuki.
The remaining quarterfinals will be between Robyn Byrne and Rhian O'Sullivan. Then later in the afternoon are the semifinals and final. The winner of the Women's World Matchplay gets to compete in the Grand Slam of Darts and the World Darts Championship.
The tournament will be broadcast in full on Sky Sports going between Action and Main Event.
The top eight players in the PDC Women's Series get to share a prize pool of £25,000. The eight entrants are all guaranteed £1250 in prize money.
A win in the quarterfinals doubles that amount to £2,500. The losing finalist goes home with £5,000. A check for £10,000 pounds awaits the first winner of the Women's World Matchplay.
