The World Youth Championship Final will take place on Sunday, 23 November 21.00 hours in Minehead, and will see Beau Greaves and Gian van Veen go head-to-head for the title in one of the most hotly anticipated games all weekend.
Say all weekend as it takes place during the Players Championship Finals - the so-called season closer before the PDC World Darts Championship which then begins on 11 December and the former sees the top 64 from the ProTour duke it out over the course of the weekend for the title and is based solely on the floor events.
Van Veen given his form on TV including winning the European Championship could feasibly be playing back-to-back as the World Youth final takes place between the semi-finals and the final on the Sunday. While Greaves does not play in the main tournament as she was not part of the top 64 on the ProTour. She did play on the floor in 2025 but only partially as a top up member from the Challenge Tour before declining other chances to play so she is only going for one match.
That match was set up at the World Youth Championship initial rounds. Greaves famously upset Luke Littler in the semi-finals of the World Youth Championship with a 105 average winning 6-5 to set her spot. Littler had gone from Leicester at the World Grand Prix to play the event in Wigan which was criticised due to him being now the World No.1 and the top player in the sport to many at the time. But Greaves paid heed to that anyway.
She faces Van Veen who has now been in three finals in a row. he lost to Littler back in 2023 before avenging that in 2024 against Jurjen van der Velde. Both also have a Grand Slam spot sealed through this route too albeit the World Championship spot will go to qualifiers on Monday as both are already qualified multiple times.
The prize money went up in 2024 and is unchanged for this year's tournament. It sees £12,000 for the winner and £6,000 for the runner-up with an overall prize pool of £100,000. For those in the previous stages, it is £3,000 for the semi-finalists, Quarter-Finalists seal £2,000. While for reaching the Last 16, it is £1,500.
For finishing fourth in the initial round robin, it was £250. Third was £400 so all to play for in the case of Greaves and Van Veen this weekend.
