Peter Wright is through to the semi-finals at the European Championship after a brilliant display to see off Steve West.
Wright averaged 104 with eight 180’s in a 10-6 win which means West won’t retire this weekend which he revealed if he won the title.
‘Snakebite’ began the tie with a break of throw despite only hitting 2/12 on the doubles to go 2-1 up.
He held with an 11-darter to make it 3-1 but West hit a 121 checkout to stage in touch at 3-2 behind at the break.
Wright hit a 10-dart finish to return and claim a 4-2 lead and another break from there saw him pounce on four missed darts at doubles to make it 6-3.
West broke back immediately though with an 88 checkout to make it 6-4 and he claimed back to back legs to stay in touch.
But Wright broke back though to make it 8-5, this was pegged back with a crucial 112 checkout to make it 8-6.
But the final point came West busted his finish and Wright went one away and he concluded proceedings from there.
