Target Darts have confirmed that they have resigned Mitchell Lawrie to a new contract as he continues his journey with the darting manufacturer. Still only 15-years-old, he will be eligible to make his Q-School debut next year in what will be a long awaited move.
The current WDF World No.1 and reigning WDF World Youth Champion, Lawrie has established himself as one of the finest young talents in the sport post the rise of a certain Luke Littler who committed his future to Target Darts in the biggest deal darts has ever seen.
Hailing from Renfrew in Scotland, the player known as 'Wee Sox' made history in 2025 by becoming the first teenager to make the final of the WDF World Championship ultimately being defeated by the best player in the WDF system at that point in Jimmy van Schie.
Van Schie has since moved on to bigger climbs in the form of the PDC where he is now a full fledged Tour Card holder and Lawrie will look to make the splash next year. He also lifted the WDF World Youth Championship in 2025 adding the major title to his lis to his list of accomplishments. He also defeated a familiar rival in Kaya Baysal in the final of JDC World Youth Championship at the Alexandra Palace as he continued his rise on the biggest darting stage.

Becoming World No.1 and continuing his development with Target

He also made history recently without even playing as he became the youngest ever WDF World No.1 after a series of standout performances on the WDF circuit including victories at major ranking events at the British Open, Welsh Open and Irish Classic.
A long time part of the Target system having been involved since his days with Elite 1 development where he honed his craft, he has now signed a full deal to be with Target going forward.

Comparisons with Luke Littler continue as ever, but Lawrie has often said that he is Mitchell Lawrie and not Luke Littler and will look to forge his own path albeit with the same manufacturer with his contemporary. He also hit a nine-darter recently on the JDC Advanced Tour and will finally get the chance to play PDC darts next season after likely another Lakeside title tilt.
