The Amateur Darts Circuit (ADC) has announced an upgrade to its Global Championship. With a new format, significantly higher prize money and new TV partner, it aims to further establish its name in amateur darts.
Devon Petersen won the first Global Championship at the end of last year. The South African therefore returns this year as reigning champion in a field of 56 players.
The ADC has seriously increased the prize money for the Global Championship. Thus, the total prize pool is raised from 85,000 pounds to no less than 150,000 pounds. A check worth 60,000 pounds is waiting for the winner. Darts fans around the world can follow the tournament via Pluto TV.
New format
The tournament kicks off on Dec. 1, when eight days of seven players each compete against each other in the group stage. In this first phase, the top four from each group will advance to the knockout phase.
We will then have eight groups with four players each, with only the winner advancing to the final stage. In this final phase, the eight remaining players will compete for the title during the first week of January 2026 at the MODUS Live Lounge in Portsmouth.

Scott Hunt, ADC Head of Global Operations, explains more. "This is a truly revolutionary announcement for the amateur side of darts. With even more qualification opportunities and a staggering prize money of £150,000, we are taking the sport to new heights. The success of the 2024 ADC Global Championship was just the beginning. Now, with a larger field of competitors and a new home on Pluto TV, the future looks brighter than ever!"
