2017 really is becoming a breakout season to remember for Rob Cross.
The former electrician from Hastings has picked up his 4th Pro tour title of the season after defeating Adrian Lewis 6-3 in today's finals.
Cross began the day with his first of 2 whitewash victories, Ron Meulenkamp his first victim. He backed that up with a 6-5 win over Craig Gilchrist before conquering Steve West 6-3 in the board final.
Last weeks surprise package of the Grand Prix John Henderson was taken care of in the last 16. That win was followed up with his second 6-0 win of the day over former World Youth Champion Keegan Brown.
Tom Kirby Memorial winner William O'connor was brushed aside 6-2 in the Semis, before fellow Target Pro Lewis was defeated in the final.
Cross now has a great chance of heading to the Players Championship finals in Minehead as Number 1 seed. He had this to say to PDC.tv "To do what I've done this year is fantastic and I've over-achieved from my expectations. To go to Minehead as the number one seed, if that was to happen, is an achievement and something to be proud of."
With just 1 pro tour remaining another win would seal a remarkable debut players championships season.

- Is this the start of an attempt to say that he (Littler) is the best ever as he has won most money. Perhaps adjust all prize money earned by allowing for inflation. If Littler gets close too (does not even have to overtake) both MVG’s and Taylor’s Major titles total then he is in the conversation. Indicates to me that the prize money is skewed to much towards the top players, meritocracy must rule but a fair distribution of the money is needed otherwise its only ever about a select few.Mysstree09-01-2025

- It is shocking and unbelievable that 2 Hotty who was always such a decent player, 2 time World Champion and won the Grand Slam when it meant something. He really should have joined the PDC earlier. He has just disappeared off the radar. Such a shame when one of your favourite players just dissappears. I guess he is concentrating on the carpentry. It is quite pathetic and desperate the way Bunting and Arsepinall pander to the crowd to dance to their walk on music, that has worked though. I would like to see more players involved on a weekly basis similar to the Modus Super Series. A knockout tournament with 16 winners from each week.
