The 2026 PDC World Darts Championship has delivered another remarkable record. Thanks to a record haul of one thousand 180s, title sponsor Paddy Power must now donate at least one million pounds to Prostate Cancer UK. That milestone marks a key moment in the tournament’s charity campaign at Alexandra Palace.
The barrier of one thousand maximums was broken in the match between Kevin Doets and Luke Humphries. Doets hit the historic 180, with the old tournament record of 915 maximums already comfortably surpassed, and seven matches still to come.
Luke Littler also made a major contribution, registering 37 maximums up to the quarter-finals. His opponents kept the pace high, sending the 180 tally surging and pushing the total into four figures.
The donation forms part of the so-called Even Bigger 180 Campaign. Ahead of the tournament, Paddy Power pledged to donate one thousand pounds to Prostate Cancer UK for every 180 hit. In addition, every nine-darter triggers a £60,000 donation, with an extra £120,000 split between the player who throws the perfect leg and a fan in attendance.
With this milestone, Paddy Power’s total contribution in its first three years as PDC World Darts Championship title sponsor has now exceeded three million pounds. The bookmaker has extended its partnership with the PDC through at least 2031.
Alongside the 180 campaign, the Darts of Destiny initiative is also running. During the final, one fan will get the chance to step on stage and attempt to throw a 180 in nine darts, with a top prize of £180,000.
Through these campaigns, Paddy Power aims to raise awareness of prostate cancer. Each year, more than ten thousand men are told their disease has been diagnosed too late to be cured. During the World Darts Championship, the bookmaker wants to encourage 180,000 men to check their risk. In the first two years, more than 250,000 men used the online risk checker.
In a statement, Paddy Power said: “Alongside the donations via the Darts of Destiny JustGiving page, which continue to fund life-saving research for Prostate Cancer UK, we also thought it was a nice idea to give whoever gets on stage some extra practice for that £180,000 throw at the World Darts Championship.”
