Nathan Aspinall spurned an early advantage but still prevailed against Jermaine Wattimena which he admitted afterwards he is sick of but he is into the Quarter-Finals of the Grand Slam of Darts.
"It is the story of my life. It's doing my head in, it's doing my manager's head in, it's doing my family's head in. I came out really well 4-1 up. Felt the 180's were flowing, finishing was flowing. Felt really good in my game and I walked out after the break and it was just rubbish. He obviously comes back to 6-4 and I'm like go back to the 15-20 minutes ago and close this game out because you're the better player. I was playing better than Jermaine and I deserved to win, the last few legs I was really happy with how I played," said Aspinall post match.
This frustration in Aspinall's opinion led to an obscene hand gesture which he realized he did on camera and tried to play off and he said first and foremost that it wasn't towards Wattimena.
"It wasn't no gesture towards Jermaine, it was purely how I played in the second session. I did it, shouldn't have done it. It was purely one of those spur of the moment things, it is what it is nothing I can do now."
