Brilliant Brendan Dolan survives Gary Anderson comeback in stunning win to reach World Darts Championship Quarter-Finals

Gerwyn Price last time out and now Gary Anderson, Brendan Dolan has continued his remarkable scalps at the PDC World Darts Championship to reach his second Quarter-Final in his career at the Alexandra Palace.

Dolan sealed a 4-3 sets win over Anderson after watching his initial chance fall away as 'The Flying Scotsman' came from 2-0 down to lead 3-2. But never count out the Northern Irishman as he produced at the death and with a barrage of boos against him and will now face Raymond van Barneveld or Luke Littler for a spot in the semi-finals. Remarkable story developing.

To start the tie, Anderson missed the big 20 on a Shanghai finish and Dolan punished to seal the opening set from there with three straight legs. Anderson just couldn't get going and was averaging 84.5 and watched as Dolan imparted more misery on his shoulders going two sets up.

But just as it looked like Dolan was going to go one away from the match, Anderson came back. He rallied from two legs behind to seal the third set in a decider and made it 2-1 as Dolan's scoring dried up. Anderson continued to improve and made it back-to-back sets at 2-2.

Suddenly Anderson was leading as he sealed three on the spin and Dolan potentially looked consigned to his fate that the Scot was going to produce a famous come behind win. But he is never out of the fight and responded with a 3-1 set to make it 3-3. It was all or nothing. Anderson levelled up with an 82 checkout but missed darts at double as Dolan took a 2-1 lead and this was also a theme in the final leg as despite Dolan missing match darts, Anderson couldn't take advantage and Dolan fell over the line on double three.
