Simon Whitlock alongside Jeffrey de Zwaan took his chance to the full on Wednesday night with a stunning display to see off Chris Dobey in the World Grand Prix.
Whitlock was called up last minute after Stephen Bunting and Adrian Lewis tested positive for COVID-19 and it was a call that 'The Wizard' was expecting potentially.
He came back to win in straight sets with a 101 average against Dobey in a stunning display and as he said he grabbed it with both hands.
"It's hard to explain. I actually feel amazing, to get that call yesterday was amazing. I was hoping for it but I don't want anyone getting COVID-19," said Whitlock to Online Darts post match.
"I was excited to get a call. I've just grabbed it and done what I do."
