Jonny Clayton has extended his lead atop the Premier League Darts table after seeing off Peter Wright to progress to the semi-finals in Dublin.

Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright are his main challengers at the top with the latter falling to 'The Ferret' and 'Mighty Mike' losing earlier to James Wade who is also in the top four.
So as a result, Clayton has a great chance to build a lead going into the latter stages of the regular season. In seeing off Wright, he won 6-3 with a 100 average to do so.
To begin the tie, Wright produced a brilliant 141 to make it 2-2 but then missed 161 on the bull to allow Clayton in to go 3-2 up.
A pivotal break and hold followed with Clayton hitting double 16 and pouncing on a missed 121 from Wright to make it 5-2. It was no mistake next time for Wright who pinned 121 but that was simply to hold as Clayton sealed the deal.
While in the battle of the bottom two, Michael Smith who like Gary Anderson is very much out of the equation seemingly now is through to the semi-finals.
The basement battle saw a quality display from Smith who reeled off four legs in a row from 2-2 in order to seal a 6-2 win.

He averaged 102 in the process with 75% on the doubles with Anderson producing the same high quality average but with only two legs to show for his efforts.
