James Wade is a man on a mission during this week's
Premier League Darts as he sails closer to sealing a play-off berth and could add another weekly title shortly in Dublin after producing a personal record televised average against Gerwyn Price.
Wade saw off Michael van Gerwen in the opening tie of the evening but in 'The Iceman', he breezed through averaging an incredible 114.73 to win 6-1.
Only hitting a sole 180 in the whole tie, his finishing as usual was a marvel to behold as he hit a highest checkout of 140 as well as 85.7% on the doubles compared to just 1/3 from Price who couldn't offer any resistance to the prowess of 'The Machine'.
But next up is a different proposition as Wade will face
Jonny Clayton, the defending Premier League Darts champion and current league leader.
He has extended his lead further this evening but not without having to produce some quality darts to overcome Michael Smith in the second semi-final.
He was 4-1 down and it looked like the St Helens ace who sits at the wrong end of the table was set to give himself another chance of breaking the duck of being the only player without a weekly title.
But 'The Ferret' turned on the gears when needed and reeled off five consecutive legs from the brink to win 6-4 with a 104.16 and defying a 104.73 in the process from Smith to win through.
He is now into his fifth weekly final of the campaign and will look to go back-to-back after winning in Aberdeen last week.
