The last 16 lineup is set in Graz at the 2025
Austrian Darts Open with
Dave Chisnall completing the field after a win 6-3 over Ian White in the last match of Saturday evening session. Not all the big names in action were quite so successful however.
Earlier in the evening there were wins for Peter Wright, Martin Schindler, Chris Dobey, Jermaine Wattimena (who stunned
Jonny Clayton) and Damon Heta. But for two of the Premier League Darts stars in the field it was already time to pack their bags.
There had been little to choose between
Stephen Bunting and Matt Campbell across the opening five legs of their clash, with both players trading blows without either managing to pull away.
However, it was Bunting who edged in front, producing a superb 12-darter in the fifth leg to break the Canadian's throw and take a narrow 3-2 lead.
Despite Bunting posting a superb 104+ average and firing in six 180s over the course of the match, it was Campbell who ultimately emerged victorious. The Canadian produced a spirited fightback, winning four of the next five legs to seal a dramatic 6-4 victory and book his place in the last 16. Trailing 3-2 at one stage, Campbell showed great resilience to turn the contest around and secure a return to Graz on Sunday.
Campbell put in a magical display to deny Bunting
In the other upset of the night, after a slow and cagey start, it was Kevin Doets who took control of his tie against
Nathan Aspinall. Despite averaging only in the low 80s during the early exchanges, the Dutchman managed to break Aspinall's throw in the fourth leg, establishing a 3-1 lead.
Although neither player ever truly found top gear, it was Doets who remained the more consistent. Averaging 85.51 by the end of the contest, he closed out a 6-2 victory to move into the last 16. There, he will await the German number one Martin Schindler.
