Dazzling De Sousa seals sensational Searle win with 106 average, Chisnall overcomes double trouble to battle past Aspinall

Jose de Sousa has been showing signs of getting back to his best in recent months and further evidence of that was on show as he edged past Ryan Searle 6-4 in a sensational display at the Belgian Darts Open.

De Sousa produced a 106 average with four 180's in the end as well as three huge bullseye finishes in a near complete display from 'The Special One'.

The first came in the opening leg as he hit a 122 checkout on the bull for a 12-darter to hold as Searle left 40 to break and that theme continued of holds as De Sousa hit a 124 next time around for a 2-1 lead.

Then he hit the biggest of the match to break with a 132 checkout on the bull to go 4-2 up albeit he was broken back and Searle chimed in with an effort of his own on the bull with 123 at 4-4.

But in the final leg, Searle couldn't pin 105 after De Sousa had missed match darts and De Sousa finally got over the line on double one.

Next up will be Dave Chisnall who again is into another European Tour Quarter-Final after a 6-4 win over Nathan Aspinall.

A quality game on paper due to their pedigree on the European Tour this season, it was more of a game dominated by missed doubles with 34 in total.

Going 5-3 up, Aspinall replied with a 154 checkout but that was simply to hold and Chisnall finally got over the line on double two to seal it and move through.
