Jose de Sousa claimed his first Premier League Darts win to cap off the first block of darting action and one which has seen him perform well without getting the results.
De Sousa finally got his reward against close friend, Dimitri van den Bergh and was ecstatic to get the rewards for his efforts.
"It's a special moment for me because I worked so hard this week. A win, it's great for me. It was against Dimitri, a good friend. He didn't play his game at all, I didn't play my best game but I'm really happy," said De Sousa post match.
"I work so much for this, I deserve the win this week, just one win at last to make me alive to the next week. It's some kind of trophy of my work this week."
Now he will stay with Damon Heta and Dimitri van den Bergh near Leicester ahead of the next lot of Premier League and Super Series action and while it's tough for him, he knows it's for the best.
"It's always tough to stay away from home but in this moment, it's the best option I have so I'm going to stay in Damon (Heta)'s house with Dimitri so I think we will have a wonderful week."
