De Sousa on cloud nine after maiden European Tour title win: "I can do anything right now, that's what I think. I have so much confidence in my game"

Jose de Sousa produced an exceptional display to see off Michael van Gerwen 8-4 in the final of the European Darts Grand Prix in Sindelfingen and claim his first European Tour title.

De Sousa went all the way in only his third European Tour appearance capping it off with nearly a 106 average in the final, hitting 8/13 doubles and seven 180's.

He spoke after claiming his 'biggest title' to date and believes he can defeat anyone in the current form he is in.

"I can't describe my feelings because it's unbelievable," said De Sousa. "I'm really emotional.

"Every title I win, it's a dream because it's so difficult, but this is my biggest title and I'm very, very happy.

"I thank the crowd, they were wonderful and this title is for me and all of them. I want to share it with them and all the people who support me; my management and my family.

"I can do anything right now, that's what I think. It doesn't matter who I play against, I just play my game. I know that I can do it and I have so much confidence in my game."
