"Disappointed not to get over the line" - Mixed feelings for Luke Littler after loss in weekly final against Michael van Gerwen

Luke Littler reached his first weekly final on Thursday night during the second round of Premier League Darts action in Berlin. A title did not come yet though, as the final was won 6-5 by Michael van Gerwen.

Littler had started the round of play in the German capital with a 6-5 win over Rob Cross. In that game, 'The Nuke' threw an average of 104.20, but even then he was not completely satisfied. “I didn’t feel at my best. I threw well on my own throw. I know I broke Rob once but he came back at me. At the end I just had to hold my throw to win," Littler noted after his first match.

After his victory over Cross, Littler faced Luke Humphries and the 17-year-old teenage sensation managed to beat the reigning world champion 6-5. This was followed by a close final against Van Gerwen. Littler got two match darts in this, but missed these chances, losing 6-5.

And so the reigning junior world champion looked back on his performance in Berlin with mixed feelings. ''Unreal atmosphere last night so thank you everyone for the support. Disappointed not to get over the line but more points on the board before Glasgow,'' Littler posted to his official X (Twitter) account, referring to the upcoming round of games in the Scottish city.
