Peter Wright admits he is ready to fight after the recent criticism he has received regarding his form and his spot in the Premier League as a result which many called into question.
Chris Mason in particular said that Chris Dobey was more deserving than Wright which prompted Wright to lash out at the ITV pundit and also call the Masters a 'Mickey Mouse' tournament. He swiftly apologized but the hunger to prove the doubters wrong and not roll over in his return to form is driving on the two-time World Champion.
He continued that he will win titles and will get back into the Premier League again by right in his mind next year. But given his recent up and down form, time will ultimately tell and actions will ultimate dictate whether Wright was right to fight.
“I could have quite easily said I’m retiring after the World Championship. But I thought ‘no, I’m ready to fight’. I want to show them I’m not finished and I’m still here to upset them," he said as per Oche.
“There’s hunger and fight. I’ve not retired, I’m not rolling over. Yes I played rubbish in the Premier League. But I was nervous as hell.
“I was trying a few things behind the scenes and I was shaking. It’s hurtful to hear or see the things that are said. That’s why I want to prove people wrong. I want to show them up.
“There’s loads to come this year. I will win loads of titles. I will get picked for the Premier League again. You need to win titles for that.”
